Turkish language has an ancient history and 2 famous writing scripts. One script was implemented by Ottomans when Turkey was under Ottoman Empire. That script was in Arabic alphabets. After Turkish revolution in early 20th century, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk (the first president of Modern Republic of Turkey) demolished the old Arabic script and replaced it with easy Latin script. Means that Turks used to speak same language but write in a different way after revolution. This implementation of Latin Script made Turkish Language learning extremely easy.
